No shortage of rich dark fruits in this powerful Merlot. It shows that this variety in the right places can be a good straight varietal wine. Love the seamless, smooth textured palate and the deeply concentrated flavours. They are beautifully held with ripe fine tannins and excellent oak integration.
A stunning white variety originating from Campania in Southern Italy. With low yielding vines, smaller bunches and berries, this variety is heat tolerant, with high disease resistance and higher natural acid.
Typical Margaret River fragrance of red dusty earth with dried bay leaf and fennel seed with black fruit characters of mulberry and black currant. The oak influence is very subtle with clove spice. The texture of this wine is round and plush, with fine, dusty and complex
It took a little while for the aromas to be coaxed out but once they presented themselves they hit the spot. Pears and nutty aromas, almost like cashew, some honey and white peach skin. More time reveals some citrus flower and leaf. In the mouth and poached pears drive the bus followed by a subdued ginger and cinnamon like spice. Flavours are long and mouth filling - some delicious textural interest. I’d happily have a couple of glasses.

Colour: Dark cherry red with a mauve hue.
Nose: Dark raspberry fruit, floral pot pourri and with a hint of Turkish delights and a subtle malty oak note. Remarkably poised and fresh with interesting mineral, quartz stone complexity.
Sourced from the foothills of Mt Canoolas, Orange at an altitude of 880 meters above sea level, these vineyards have extremely fertile soil, rich in volcanic ash. All the batches have been individually fermented and matured to allow for the final blending to maximise the characters and quality.
Within the 70 acres of 50 year old Semillon vines we have there is always a block that stands out each vintage and warrants keeping by itself for bottling under our White Label range.
In many ways, the introduction of the Peninsula range marks a new chapter in the Crittenden Family’s 30 years of winemaking. As the name suggests, fruit has been sourced from independent Mornington Peninsula grape growers with whom we have a great respect and long standing relationship.
