James Halliday top 100; In case you missed it, Dean just wanted to share with you James Halliday’s description of the beautiful 2014 Miss Harry scoring 96 points in the TOP100 for 2016:
“A blend of grenache, shiraz, mourvèdre, carignan and cinsault, this is flush with gloriously juicy red, blue and purple fruits, the components picked with unerring accuracy. Hewitson weaves some of the magic of the Rhône Valley’s iconic Chateau Rayas, the ultimate compliment. 96 Points, $25"
A dry winter and spring along with record warmth in October saw the vines race to another very early harvest. Flowering and fruit-set was uninterrupted, leading to better than average yields statewide. Yields were up on recent years, but such was vine health that almost all blocks looked balanced. The summer was the warmest on the record, thanks to consistently mild temperatures (and relatively few hot days).
